David Smith He is the Associate Principal Trumpet of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, and a faculty member of Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and School Of The Arts.


Born in Leicestershire England, David studied at the Royal Academy of Music and the Guildhall School of Music.


Prior to taking the post in Singapore, David spent three years with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Daniel Harding and Claudio Abaddo. He has been honored to work with many of the world’s leading conductors including Gustavo Dudamel, Philipe Herwegge, Tugan Sokhiev, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Marc Minkowski, Kent Nagano and Sir Colin Davis. ...click here to Read more

 

Fredi Sonderegger He is the Associate Principal Trombone and Bass Trombone player with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra since 2002. He also plays euphonium and bass trumpet with the SSO. Born in Switzerland, Fredi holds degrees in art, performance and education from The Juilliard School, the University of Huddersfield, the Trinity College of London, the Lausanne Conservatory, Conservatory of Winterthur and Zurich Conservatory.


Fredi is a faculty member of Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, and is charged with building its Brass Programme. He has conducted classes and workshops on the subjects of performance, technique as well as creativity to musicians and artists around Asia. ...click here to Read more

 

He is the Associate Principal Horn of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra since 1998. Born in Washington DC in 1974, Jamie began formal musical studies on the horn with Edwin Thayer, former Principal Horn of the National Symphony Orchestra (Washington D.C.). Jamie is Professor of Horn at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and School Of The Arts.


At the young age of 17, Jamie began playing regularly the National Symphony Orchestra and recorded with them in the 4th symphony of the critically acclaimed 15 Shostakovich symphony recordings with the great cellist and conductor Mstislav Rostropovich. David is Head of the Repairs & Service Workshop at Top Brass®. Over 20-years of experience repairing brass and woodwind instruments has resulted in the meticulous craftsmanship he is renowned for in the UK. He has set up one of the finest repair workshops in Asia at Top Brass®.
