Mark Glover holds a Bmus(Hons) music degree from the Royal Welsh College of Music and studied the euphonium with Andrew Fawbert and Robert Childs.
During his degree he played with some of the top Welsh bands including Tredegar, Cory and Tongwynlais Bands. He also gained an ATCL (recital) diploma from the Trinity College London and has received lessons from Steven Mead and David Thornton.
Mark was awarded ‘best soloist’ prizes at a number of competitions including The Pontins Championships and in 2003 he was the runner up in the British Open Solo Championships. He has performed at many prestigious concert venues including The Royal Albert Hall and has featured on a number of CD recordings by The Staffordshire Band. The CD ‘Back to the 40’s’ featured a solo written especially for Mark by the composer Wesley Kendrick.
Along side his euphonium playing, Mark has extensive experience as a classroom music teacher and has had particular success in working with youngsters with special needs. He is regularly in demand as a brass teacher and has conducted various brass bands. He also plays the guitar and the drum kit and enjoys all aspects of music technology. |
