Jelyn Cheo, 11 years old - currently studying in St Margaret’s Primary School has been learning Cornet since 6 years old, she joined School Band when she was in Primary 1 until to-date, she plays Fugal Horn too, having participated twice in Singapore Youth Festival and Brass Explosion in May 2011 organized by Partners in Brass.
She has been learning the trumpet for more than a year, under the guidance of Adrian Flowers from BrassArt, and she was elated that she has been shortlisted after her first attempt on 26 November 2011 by Singapore National Youth Orchestra (SNYO). She will be starting her rehearsal with SNYO in January 2012, with once a week practice on top of her private lesson. She is also grateful to Kevin Steward and Mark Waltho for teaching her when Adrian Flowers is unavailable.
Jelyn is proud of her personal trumpet and hopes to own another trumpet. She hopes to achieve her dreams of being few female trumpeters in time to come and bring Singapore proud. |
